Seriously speaking, before I became a Realtor, I was a mortgage lender with major lenders in our area for several years. I can personally tell you there were many days I felt just like the man to your right with all the documentation that was needed for home loans.
This experience has been very crucial in assisting my buyers through their mortgage loan process, especially First Time Home Buyers.
Mortgage Loans
The documentation to secure a home loan is overwhelming and tedious. There are many hurdles to overcome even with the simplest of home loans out there. However, a good-solid mortgage loan originator/officer can lead you through the process. But, who should I use for a loan to purchase my home?
Great question! Usually I recommend you use the bank that you already have a relationship with on your bank accounts-but also you should shop around for the best rate and terms. That may not necessarily be who your currently banking with. Ask around to family, friends, co-workers, and your Realtor for recommendations. Before meeting with a lender, sometimes it is a very good idea to pull your credit reports to review for errors-which is more common than what you realize .
